Recall Alert: Toyota Camry, Camry Hybrid

Toyota has recalled about 4,200 Camry and Camry Hybrid sedans from model years 2023 and 2024 because their rear seats may contain improper welds and could break in an accident.

All of the recalled cars use a 60/40-split folding rear seat. The company tells federal car safety officials that a supplier may not have properly attached rear-seat head restraints on the 60% side to the seat frame. That could contribute to neck injuries in an accident.

Toyota has not said whether it knows of any injuries related to the problem. But the company says it was discovered by the seat supplier during an inspection, not as the result of an accident.

Dealers will correct the issue by replacing the entire seat frame on that side. Recall repairs are always free.

Automakers recall many cars to fix safety defects, sometimes more than once. While automakers try to contact every owner to ask them to bring the vehicle in for repair, they rarely reach them all. Millions of vehicles on American roads need free recall repairs. To find out if your car is one of them, check the easy VIN tool at our recall center.
