Nissan’s Ariya electric SUV is getting a lot cheaper. Nissan has knocked between $3,575 and $6,035 off the price of every Ariya trim level for the new model year.
Apart from the price change, there are no substantive differences between the 2023 and 2024 Ariya models. That creates the unusual circumstance of the new model year being less expensive than the old.
Our expert test driver praised the Ariya’s “bold look and an inviting yet practical interior, a full suite of active safety features, and the latest version of Nissan’s ProPilot semi-autonomous system featuring hands-off highway driving.” It’s spacious, with lovely wide-grain wood trim options and the “zero gravity” seats car critics tend to praise in most Nissan vehicles.
But the Ariya does not qualify for the federal government’s $7,500 EV tax credit.
