Chevy (Again) Teases Corvette ZR1

“This summer.” That’s all we get for a reveal date. But Chevrolet has once again teased a new, hyper-fast variant of the Corvette Stingray, to be called the 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1.

This time, the clues show up in a very brief YouTube video. In April, Chevy showed a sketch of the car’s silhouette made from smoke. This time, we get a split-second glimpse of its rear as it races away from the camera.

There’s enough time to spot rear exhaust tips centered on the rear bumper, like those found on the Corvette Z06. Rumors say it will carry a turbocharged version of the 5.5-liter V8 found in the Z06, though we can’t tell from the engine noise in the video whether it’s still a flat-plane-crank model.

However, outside of professional endurance racing, we can see the most prominent and tallest wing on a Corvette.

Motor Trend claims the ZR1 will be a hybrid, with an electric motor driving the front axle for extra power. The current holder of the quickest Corvette title, the E-Ray, is a hybrid.

Want more? We’ll have to wait for summer. The meteorologists say it’s already here, though the astronomers say we have over two weeks to go. Hopefully, Chevy’s on Weather Channel time, so we’ll know more soon.
