2024 Jeep Compass Starts Under $28,000

The Jeep brand has been moving upmarket recently, offering 6-figure large SUVs and even Wrangler models pushing over the $90,000 mark. The brand cut its least-expensive model, the Renegade, after the 2023 model year. It also ended production of its inexpensive Cherokee compact SUV after nearly 50 years.

But not every inexpensive Jeep has disappeared. The Compass small SUV is back for 2024 and getting a price cut.

The 2024 Jeep Compass manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) starts at just $27,495 (including a $1,595 destination charge). That’s a $2,500 drop from the prices of the almost identical 2023 model. All exterior paint colors, aside from Bright White Clear-Coat, carry a $595 added cost, which carries over from the previous year.

Jeep has also removed several trim levels from the lineup. The Altitude, High Altitude, and (RED) models have disappeared from the online configurator, though dealers may still have some in stock.

The Compass is otherwise almost unchanged for 2024. Trailhawk models get new all-terrain tires, and every Compass gains a new grille insert. The Compass remains the least expensive way to get Jeep’s vaunted off-road prowess. Our expert test driver says, “Its shining attributes are a surprisingly capable AWD system, a user-friendly infotainment interface, and an impressive bundle of advanced driver-assist tech.”
